OUR ARTWORK GUIDELINES

We know the importance of getting your print to you quickly and at the highest quality.

To help, we’ve put together some top tips on how to set up your artwork for print:

These guidelines are designed to ensure that the artwork you supply to us is print ready. Please provide crop marks around all your supplied artwork. All artwork must be supplied with 2mm bleed with a resolution of no less than 300dpi with all relevant links and fonts supplied, embedded or outlined. There may be a delay if there are missing fonts.

Images supplied must be CMYK format and a minimum of 300dpi.

We cannot use the following formats for printing:
Word - Excel - PowerPoint - Publisher - Works

Please note that it is important when supplying a PDF from a microsoft document, care is taken to ensure any spot colours are created correctly in your original document.

Please supply a screen shot of your Microsoft document before conversion
this can be done by the following:

PC Operators - There is a "PRINT SCREEN" button on the keyboard.
Mac Operators - Press the "Apple" and "Shift 4" keys, then highlight the area you wish to copy.

This saves a PNG copy to your desktop

We request all our artwork to be supplied as high resolution (300dpi). It is important that you prepare your PDF file in the correct way.

These options must be set for commercial printing:

Resolution - Choose High Resolution.
Compression Settings - This should be down sampled to 300dpi with "auto compression" set on high.
Font Embedding - Should be set to "embed all fonts"

Colour needs to be set as CMYK not RGB
(RGB artwork will be converted to CMYK and this could affect your colours).

Include all embedded images and convert all text to curves. Save as a .EPS file.

Please ensure all fonts and pictures used in your artwork are supplied to us in a separate folder using the "package" function under the "file" menu. Compress the document using 7zip or WinRar before uploading or sending your order via e-mail.

Please also include a PDF. This is for our reference to make sure that nothing is missing or moved on the artwork supplied. Please note that this will be proofed first and could cause a longer delivery time.

Set Resolution to 300dpi when starting your new document. Save file as TIFF or JPEG.

Please note: If you need us to make changes to your file (JPEG / EPS), we will require you to re-supply new artwork as either a PSD, PDF or AI file as we are unable to make changes to flattened images (JPEG / EPS / TIFF).

Please ensure that you do not supply your files imposed or as "printers pairs". Please only send one version.

It's also essential that there is a minimum 3mm bleed around your artwork. This is for cutting purposes. For example: A6 size would be 111mm x 154.50mm.

Save your artwork as any of the above formats. Please note that there is a 2mm tolerance for cutting on all jobs. Please ensure that the colour is set to CMYK not RGB.

Although AJSMEDIA makes every effort to provide an error free product, your cooperation is required as well. The final responsibility for proofing is yours.

A proof can be sent to you via e-mail (a fee of £5 will be charged) or by post (a fee of £20 will be charged) if you request this when the order is placed. The proof is submitted to you to ensure the accuracy of your printed project.
