Overview

Beginners often use "domain hosting" and "web hosting" interchangeably, but they represent two entirely separate services required to build and publish a live website.

Key Distinctions

• Domain Name (The Address): A domain name is your unique text-based identifier (e.g., ajsmedia.com) that people type into a web browser to find your site. Think of it as your street address or postal code.
• Web Hosting (The Property): Web hosting is the digital storage space and server infrastructure (such as standard or managed hosting packages) where your website files, images, code, and databases live. Think of it as the physical house built on that plot of land.
